There She Goes Again: Ethics Complaint Filed Against Bell Campaign


November 1st, 2009

On October 30th, An ethics complaint was filed against the Campaign to Re-elect Mayor Lynda Bell for the endorsement of Homestead’s Police Chief Al Rolle. A mailer from the Lynda Bell for Mayor Campaign States: “ENDORSED BY HOMESTEAD POLICE CHIEF AL ROLLE.” Police Chief Al Rolle did not give permission for the endorsement. Therefore, the statement is fraudulent and misleading and a violation of Miami-Dade County and State of Florida Ethics and Election laws. Furthermore, the false endorsement is a violation of the City of Homestead Charter which prohibits such political endorsements by City employees.
